About me
Hello! I am Iuliana, a self-taught visual artist, from northern Romania (Bucovina). I have been drawing and painting since I know myself, but in recent years I have raised this hobby to the rank of passion. After graduating in computer science and a career of more than 25 years in the field of exact sciences, in 2018 I rediscovered my creative side through painting, drawing, jewellery design. Since then, every day became more beautiful through my imagination and creation. Following my dream of becoming a visual artist, I dedicated every free moment to art studies, individual or specialized courses.
My paintings are one of a kind, a combination between figurative and abstract styles, using vivid colors with a touch of geometry. I always try to expand my artistic area, to use new media, materials or techniques, acrylic colors or high quality oils on canvas or paper, but also pastels, watercolors and markers for drawings or sketches on special paper. Last but not least, I put something of myself in every piece of artwork, with a lot of joy and love.
As an artist, I see the world beautiful and colourful and I use geometry (lines, shapes) to capture the symmetry of my imagination. The strong and vivid colors in my art aim to give the viewer an optimistic approach to life.
Naturally, I extended my artistic skills to jewellery design, creating unique necklaces, pendants, necklaces, earrings, bracelets. For these I used special techniques, such as acrylic pouring or fluid art or manual painting on natural materials, such as shells or wood. Just recently I started to add gemstones and crystals to my creations, also silver or stainless steel for their metaphysical and hypoallergenic properties. You cand find in my designs various materials, such as natural pearls, garnet, amethyst, onyx, aventurine, jade, jasper, hematite, olivine, obsidian, coral, rhodonite, tourmaline, agate and so on, combined with glass, crystals and metal elements but also with hand painted pendants.
